To be fair to JP, lawn 2 is a LOT harder to take position on - the ball drifts all over the place. And that's not mentioning the treacherous east boundary which makes lift shots in AC very unappealing

Great day for filming - very muted shadows. I was hoping for blazing sun on freshly double-cut lawns. But that's a bit greedy given the wonderful weather we have had so far, and the thousands and thousands of hours of volunteer labour that have gone into hosting this championship. The satellite venues have been so good that Chris Clarke is really keen to see an AC worlds here.

I had the pleasure of playing at Essendon, and only missed out on a morning at Williamstown by needing to win a playoff to get into the KO, though heard that was fantastic. Much credit to all who have spent months preparing for this tournament.

They must be about to start play, as Reg has just played his balls up to hoop 1 from corner 4 - often the last part of anyone's practice. Ahmed has taken on no hoops - he had practiced a bit of clearing, but it's different to usual. I certainly do understand that the culture and practices in Egypt are different - and a lot of them are a lot better than ours (the disappointing GC rules that have been highlighted at different times here are not observed in Egypt).
