Good morning from an overcast but dry Christchurch. While I wait for a lawn to become available, I thought I would offer some updates on the state of play in each block.

In Block A, Jenny and Alison Robinson have definitely qualified for the main event and Lois, Jacky Lynch, Dawn Jupin and Clair Whyms have definitely qualified for the plate. Beatrice has just started against Clair; if she wins, she will definitely be through and if Clair wins, Beatrice will be in a playoff. In Cindy v Rosemary, Rosemary is 6 and 4 and in play; Cindy is 2b and 4b. If Rosemary wins, she is through; if Cindy wins they are both in a playoff.

In Block B, Claire, Kerri-Ann and I are definitely through. Janet and Susan are definitely in the plate. Carissa is 1b and 4b against Geraldine on 2b and 4b and Marion is 4b and rover v Janet on 5 and 6. If one of Carissa and Marion win, they are through. If both win, they are in a 2 way play off. If both lose, they are in a playoff with any of Geraldine, Kathie and Rosemary S-R who win.

In Block C, Alison, Heather and Bonnie are through. If Erica beats Baubre she is through, but as time approaches that is looking unlikely. If not, there is the manager’s delight of a 3 way tie between Lorna, Jane and Erica.

In Block D, Debbie and Miranda are through. Sophie is on 4b and has just stuck in 6 against Virginia on 6 and 2b with 8 mins to go. Sonia is well ahead against Shirley. Dallas has just beaten Liz, so it looks like that may be heading to a 3 way tie is well.

Back to Block A, Beatrice is just setting a diagonal spread or more probably an OSL against Clair at the end of the first break on the lawn. Now Cindy has beaten Rosemary, it is a 2 way tie between them if Beatrice wins and a 3 way tie with Beatrice if Beatrice loses.

Quick update before I push off for a while. In the battle of the British Isles, Lorna is 2 and 3b v Erica on 6 and 6. Erica has just hit a hampered shot after H5.

In Block D, Dallas is on peg and peg, while Virginia has just run H3 with partner also on 3. About 30 mins left on the clock.

In Block A, Rosemary is on 2 and 1b and Cindy is on 3 and 1b with the innings.

In Block C, Erica stuck in 6 and Lorna got the innings but then missed a relatively short cut rush on partner. Erica missed and Lorna now has a 9 yarder at partner. See you later.
