Welcome to the CNZ South Island GC Championships that will be from Thursday, 5th – 8th February 2026 and held at the Brooklyn Croquet Club, 15 Brooklyn Drive, Blenheim. (Take entrance to Whitehead Park) https://maps.app.goo.gl/i8JJvtdcGCoxF2HQ7 .

The Tournament Referee will be Helen Reeves assisted on Thursday by David Grigg and Friday Sam Robinson.

The Appeals Committee will be Tournament Referee Helen Reeves, Nik Budd-Clement, David Grigg, and Sam Robinson, or if needed, by any other qualified non conflicted player.

The lawns will be open on Wednesday, 4th February, between 3 – 4 pm for any entrants wishing to practice. Other times later that day may be possible please contact Peter Burt to confirm.

Starting time each day is 8.30 am. Please be at the Clubhouse by 8 am on Thursday 5th February for an official welcome and briefing, and to allow a 5min warm-up session prior to commencement of play. The 5 min warm-up will apply each day.

Please remember to bring your AHS Card and hand it to Marg Foxton.

The Clubhouse Fee of $5 per day is included in your entry fee and covers morning and afternoon tea. Please bring your own lunch.

Format All games will be 13 points.

Doubles - Thursday 5th and Friday 6th February
Thursday will be a block playing the Best of 3 matches.
Friday will be a Best of 3 Knockout semi-final. The KO final will be the top 2 pairs playing either a Best of 3 or Best of 5, depending upon daylight hours. The two pairs who lost in the semi-final will play a plate round of a Best of 3 final.

Singles - Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th February
Saturday – A single block of 8 will play a round robin.
Sunday The top four finishing will then play a best of 3 Knockout semi-final with the winners playing a Best of 3 or 5 final. The balance will play a plate round of a single 13 point game each.

The draw is based on giving full tournament play for all competitors. The draw will be listed on Croquet Scores. All events are seeded according to World Rankings. If a player does not have a world ranking, the AHS card index will be used to rank those on the same handicap. The draw will be seeded.
There will be no time limits for any match. However, the manager may enforce time limits if time pressure becomes an issue for the event.
This letter will be downloaded onto Croquet Scores in the “Commentary” section for your reference.
General Information;.
• All games will be posted on Croquet Scores.
• Trophy, Badge and certificates will be awarded at the end of the event.
• If you leave the grounds during the event, please check with the manager prior to leaving.
• Parking is available adjacent to the clubhouse.
• There is no wifi at the club available for general use.
• Please bring your own lunch – Redwood bakery , Woolworths and NPD all have food available and are in reasonably close proximity.
Catering
• Morning tea will be available starting at 9.30am until 11.00am.
• Afternoon tea will be available at 2.30pm until 4.00pm.
