Australia - GC Doubles
Format by Peter Freer
1) Two blocks, with each pair to play a single 13 point game against each other pair in that block.
2) Games will all be single banked to expedite play.
3) Pairs play the first 6 rounds on Sunday (Day 1), and the remaining 3 rounds on Monday AM (Day 2). Players may play more rounds on each day if conditions permit, at the Tournament Manager’s discretion, but players may decline to play more than 6 games on any day.
4) Each game will have a time limit of 80 minutes. When the bell goes, finish the current hoop, and play one further deciding hoop if scores are then level.
5) Pairs placed 1 to 4 in the block, based on games won, proceed to the final 8 knockout stage using in the CA Knockout Procedure (Block based seeding) to determine placings in the KO. Initial places within the block will be decided by games won, then net points, then who beat who. There will only be play-offs for qualifying positions if pairs ranked 4th or worse are tied on games won.
6) Quarter-finals (bo3) will be played on Monday PM (Day 2). Losers go into the Y.
7) Semi-finals (bo3) will be played on Tuesday AM (Day 3). Losers will play-off for Third.
The Y will start, also playing bo3 on Tuesday morning.
8) The Final will be on Tuesday PM (Day 3) as best of three 13 point games.
