The Qualifying and Reserve blocks will begin warm-up at 8:30. The first set of pairings for the Plate will be posted around 9:00.

With 7 Qualifier Places currently available in the main championship, the purpose of the Qualifying Block is to determine last place. It is possible, but by no means guaranteed, that some of the later-round games will not need to be played. However, we must begin with the assumption that they will. The issue is not just whether or not a given player is guaranteed not to finish last, it is whether any of that player's remaining games could possibly affect any other player's chance of finishing last.

Reminder: all players who earn a Qualifying Place must complete the Qualifier Form, provide a headshot photo, and pay the £153 entry fee using PayPal/Bank. The players finishing 8-12 will also be asked to fill out the form to indicate their willingness to be a "sitting reserve" in case of a last-minute withdrawal.
