Rose Gardens midweek short tournament

Format etc by Michael Hardman

We think that there are several players who can cope with 4 games of GC in day, but not the 5 or 6 in a normal tournament. The full house for the double-banked capacity of the lawns suggests that this assumption has merit.

The field of 24 was divided into 4 divisions based on handicap: 0-3 (4 players), 5-6 (4 players), 8-10 (8 players) and 11-14 (8 players). (There are gaps in their handicaps). The divisions of 4 will each play a round robin of 3 rounds and then playoffs 1st v 2nd and 3rd v 4th for the last round. The divisions of 8 will each play a round robin of 3 rounds within 2 sections; in this case the playoffs will be between players in corresponding positions in the two sections of that division.

Time limits 1 hour followed by 2 tuns per ball (Rule 19.1.3).
