FORMAT
One block of 6 players playing a single round robin. There will be no final.

CONDITIONS OF PLAY
Full bisque handicap play, with a base handicap of 6. Full Bisque play is described in Appendix 3 of the Laws of Association Croquet, included on page 2 of this document.
All games will have a time limit of 2½ hours. No games will be double banked.
Players are reminded of the need to play “with reasonable despatch”. Please read the note “Wasting Time in Association Games” from Neil Hardie on page 3 – you can be assured that the referees will have read it!
A 5-minute warm up is permitted before the start of a player’s first game each day. Dawson international balls will be used. Hoops will be set at 3¾ inches with a tolerance of ±1/32nd of an inch.
The winner and other positions in the block shall be determined as most games won, then net points, then result of game(s) between the players.
TIMES OF PLAY
Sessions will start at 9.30 am and approximately 12.30 pm each day.
REFEREES
It is expected that there will be a referee on request. The referee should be called before you play any hampered stroke, or any stroke where the outcome might be in doubt, such as an attempt to roquet a ball in or very close to a hoop.
If no referee is available, a senior player should be called.
COURT SET UP
Players are asked to help with the setup of courts before the first game and the packing away of courts after the last game. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to start time to help with setting up the courts.
PRACTICE
Practice on any court is permitted after the courts are set up or on any vacant court during the day.

HANDICAPS
All players should bring their AHS handicap card on day one and hand to the manager. Players must complete details of each game played at the conclusion of the game. Any change of handicap at the end of each game must be entered on the front of the card and signed off by the manager.
DRESS REQUIREMENTS
Players are to comply with the dress regulations as posted on the CNSW website.
CATERING
Players will need to bring their own lunch, but sandwiches will be available for $5.00 each. Morning and afternoon tea are provided.
PHONE
The phone number shown above is active during the tournament and approximately 30 minutes before play starts and after play finishes. It can be used to contact the manager or players.

CLEAN UP
Players are requested to clean up their rubbish around the greens.

APPENDIX 3
FULL BISQUE HANDICAP PLAY
When a game is played under the conditions of Full Bisque Handicap Play, the laws of Handicap Play apply subject to the following modifications.
A3.1 THE BASE HANDICAP
The base handicap is scratch unless agreed or directed to be greater than scratch.
A3.2 SINGLES PLAY
If both players have handicaps that are greater than the base handicap, the first sentence of Law 42.2.1 does not apply and each player receives a number of bisques equal to the difference between his handicap and the base handicap.

WASTING TIME IN ASSOCIATION GAMES (Neil Hardie)
Every player has a duty to play at a reasonable speed. There will be times when a player has to think through a strategy, or take time lining up a difficult shot; but swinging the mallet to and fro for half a minute, or gazing around at length when the next shot is obvious should be avoided.
Allowances are made for new players who are still learning the basic tactics, but as players gain experience they should be able to speed up their game. Slow play is particularly unfair when a player has a lot of bisques against a better player, and uses up most of the game time with their bisques, so the opponent does not get a fair share of the time.
Law 49 says: The striker must position the balls and play his strokes with reasonable despatch. The adversary should anticipate as far as possible with which ball he will play next so that he may waste no time in approaching it at the start of his turn. In handicap play, the striker must indicate promptly at the end of his turn whether or not he intends to play a half-bisque or bisque. In doubles play, time must not be wasted in prolonged discussion or instruction.
