Australia - GC Open Doubles

Format by Peter Freer

The format for the Open Doubles is as follows.
1) A single block, with each pair to play a single 13 point game against each other pair in that block.
2) Pairs play the first 6 rounds on Saturday (Day 1), 6 more rounds on Sunday (Day 2) and 3 rounds on Monday (Day 3). Players may play more rounds on each day if conditions permit, at the Tournament Manager’s discretion, but players may decline to play more than 6 games on any day.
3) Pairs placed 1 to 8 in the block, based on games won, proceed to the final 8 knockout stage. There will only be play-offs for qualifying positions if pairs are tied on games won – if you have qualified, place within the block will be decided by games won, then net points, then who beat who. Play-offs will be best of three hoops, starting from corner 2 and running hoops 2, 3 & 4.
4) The quarter-finals (bo3) will be played on Monday afternoon (Day 3).
5) The semi-finals & Final will be on Tuesday (Day 4) as best of three 13 point games.
The Y will start, also playing bo3. The finals of the Y & the Z will be as early as possible, playing bo3.
