Last night we were playing - last game of the day, and it was one of those games where it seems like nothing is going right.
Deadness is accumulating, players are tired, a bit edgy, and even though we were playing with longer time limits than normal, players were still anxious about 45 second shot clocks.
And then all of a sudden, the sprinklers start running and we know that our golf carts are close and will soon be doused in a shower.
We rescue them to a seemingly better spot, only to find them re-parked right next to the sprinklers that go on during their next rotation.
Now the cart is filling with water.

One of the players goes across the court, 3-ball dead, and successfully pulling off the attack, the sprinklers are now raging along the sideline.
I call timeout ...what for someone else asks ... I can't play yet with the sprinkler running next to the boundary. The quote of the day was from Brian, our new club croquet pro. "Rain or shine, play." Glad we all have a great sense of humor.
