Because of inclement weather on 8 November it was decided to re-order the Plate rounds to enable a decision to be made after three rounds of play whether to continue as a single block of eight players or to treat the initial play as two separate blocks of four players with Super Section play to follow. It was decided to take the latter course. Two Super Section blocks were formed by taking the top two place-getters from each block and likewise for the bottom two place-getters from each block.

At the conclusion of two rounds of Super Section play, Wayne Gair was determined to be the Singles Plate winner.
