Thank you for entering the 2019 GC 3+ Championship. 18 players will compete for this national 3+ singles title from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th December at the Howick Croquet Club.

Tournament Format:

Two American blocks of 9, each round a single game. 6 rounds will be played on Friday and 3 rounds on Saturday. The top 4 players from each block will qualify for the championship knockout. All knockout matches will be a best of three games.
Positions 5-9 from each block will be entered into a 10 player American Block Plate event. Each round will be a single game.
Following the last 3 rounds of the initial blocks, the knockout QF and 3 rounds of the Plate will be completed on Saturday. The knockout semi- final and final, plus the final 6 rounds for all Plate contestants are scheduled for Sunday.
All matches will be double-banked and I would like to avoid time limits. Please try to play expeditiously and take only the time needed between games.
Each player will have one bye during the initial block stage. Your bye and order of play is below, and will be posted in the “commentary” section of this tournament.
All block places will be determined by net games, then net points, then who beat who if required. The knockout draw will be seeded according to initial block positions.

Housekeeping:
Start time will be 8.30 each day. Please arrive at 8.15 on the first day for a brief tournament opening. You may practice for 5 minutes starting at 8.25 each day, or before your first game of the day. During this time do not hit any shots at hoops that would go further than 7 yards if the hoops were not there.
Lunch orders from the local bakery can be made before your 2nd round of the day. A menu and price list will be available at the club.
If you intend to leave the venue at any time, please report to the manager first. If you are under age 18 and wish to leave, please ensure that you are accompanied by an adult (over 18).
Please advise the manager if you do not wish to be photographed or appear in any transmitted image or recording of the event that may be used by Croquet NZ for promotional purposes.
