Australia - GC - Women's Singles
Format by Peter Freer
Four blocks for each event to start with (block sizes of 9-10) completed in the first two days (note there will be 8 rounds to play on day 1 but plenty of byes so no-one should play more than 6 games (probably only 5)).
The top four of each block will qualify to proceed to Bo3 XYZW knockout commencing from the round of 16.
The round of 16 and quarters will be completed on day 3 (Monday) with the semi and final played on day 4 (Tuesday).
The X final can be Bo5 if time permits and it is deemed warranted by the manager.
The plate events will also be the same, commencing with four blocks for both events (block sizes (depending on withdrawals) of 5, 6 or 7).
Scheduling another 8 rounds on day 3 (Monday) (again with plenty of byes) will get about 75% of the games completed, with the remaining games being completed on the morning of day 4 (Tuesday).
Depending on how quickly the blocks are completed, only the four block winners (maybe the runner-ups also if time permits) will proceed to a single game knockout final series, i.e. semi and final or quarters, semi and final.
The manager has discretion to determine if a 19pt final series is warranted or even a Bo3 grand final if time permits.
