Organisation of Play
The tournament will involve 9 games in a one section, complete round robin.
Each game will be time limited to 3 hours plus regulation 8 if required. There will be a 15 to 20 minute gap between games for refreshments but note that this also includes regulation 8. With such a tight timetable, clocks should not be stopped mid game by players without the Tournament Managers permission.
There are 3 lawns. Lawn 3 is new this season so is not as smooth yet as Lawns 1 and 2, but it is flat and quite playable. The games will be double banked on lawns 1 and 2, please remember to bring markers. Balls in a critical position will be marked by the Tournament Manager or his delegate.
The draw and order of play is contained in a separate document.

The Winner
The winner of the tournament will be decided upon by the most wins. In the event of a tie the tie breaker will be decided upon by the net hoop method.
Hoops
The hoops are standard (not quadway) hoops. They will be set at the beginning of each day to 3 11/16 inches.
Referees
The tournament referee will be Nelson Morrow who will be available by telephone. We will have a shortage of umpires but the Tournament Manager and John McInnes are lapsed umpires and Jacqui Anderson is a current umpire. Players will have limited umpiring abilities as per section 23 of the Tournament Regulations. These abilities will be explained in the briefing.
Rain interrupts play!
If the lawns become too slow and heavy to play on, play will be suspended until they dry out sufficiently. The Tournament Manager will alter start and end times accordingly in order get the games in. The priority is to keep disruption to a minimum. Contingency plans may involve:
a. Shortening the breaks between games
b. Extending the finish times
c. Reducing the time limit on the games
d. Reducing the number of games played. A 7 game tournament is the fall back position where games 4 and 5 are cancelled.
Catering
Running refreshments will be provided during the day consisting of teas, coffees and nibbles. There will be a charge of $4 per day for this. You are expected to provide your own lunches if required. There is a New World supermarket and a Café just across the road and other fast food outlets in the near vicinity. The club catering staff (Liz and Dale) will be more than happy to take an order and fetch things for you.
On Saturday evening you are invited to an evening meal at a local restaurant. Details of this and a booking will arranged on Saturday.
Pre-Tournament
The lawns and club will be open between 4.00pm and 6.00pm on Thursday the day before the tournament. This time can be used to have a practice and familiarise yourselves with the lawns and the club.
Parking
There is plenty of free unlimited parking on the park/club side of the street. The opposite side is time limited though. Also available, is Cricket Street next to the Shearing Museum and I site across the road from the club.
Good luck to you all and I hope you have a good tournament.
