South Island Championships

SI Doubles by gordon smith

Play in pleasant weather on 1st day.

First game was a nail biter between what proved to be the strongest teams. Nearing the end Greg broke down while 2 hoops behind. Ian Made 4 back and time went while he addressed penult, which rejected him. Greg got 1 up in his last turn.

The second day was very wet, with damp heavy lawns. Two rounds to play. Chris refused to play the last round. He felt the lawns were too heavy. Greg over approached rover for an Irish peel, just missing a TP., but winning the event with his partner Anita. Chris and Ian were declared runner-up using Reg 27.7.10 A1.

Better weather on Friday, for the rest of the tournament.
