Paul Skinley and Stephen Mulliner now on Court two for a preliminary hit-up before the contest begins. Paul has been having trouble with his mallet handle wrapping unravelling during play. Hopefully some running repairs with adhesive tape will not affect his concentration.

Game underway Blue in corner 2. Y and R on West boundary. Fourth ball in by Paul misses. Stephen in play makes hoop1 with R. Places Black near hoop 3 then returns with Y to A baulk setting a rush to hoop 2. Black shoots at R & Y but misses. Black played infield, Yellow rushed to boundary behind hoop 2, take-off to rush Blue to hoop. And a four ball break is in prospect. Hoop 3 run and all balls ahead a break to 4-back looked likely but a poor hoop 4 approach gave a breakdown with Black adjacent. But Paul's 2 yard roquet attempt jumped the ball, Red back in play and hoop run. R roquets Y, Blue on hoop 5, Y to peg. Red makes 5 but a rush of Black to get position on hoop 6 wasn't successful so he bailed out. Paul had a shot but missed. R rushes Y to H6 and makes it. Two-balling to 1-back but roll approach hits leg. Sets a rush on Y to 1-back.

Black shoots at Blue in corner 1 and hits. Takes off to R & Y, sets Y on 2, rushes Black infield takes off to H1 but no position so sets rush for Blue to hoop 1. Y shoots at R but misses ending in corner 4. Paul's attempt at hoop 1 fails. R hits Black and rushes Blue through h1 but only peg-high. Returns to Y near c4.

Paul shoots Blue at Black and misses. Mulliner plays Y (for h1). Gets a 3bb.

Just a catch-up. Stephen on 4-back with R. Y stuck in 2 back. Blue on 3-back. Black made roquet after Stephen's breakdown. Makes hoop1 and starting a break.

Paul has pioneers at 5 and 6 and makes 4. Loads 2B early but is a little short on the hoop 5 pioneer. Difficult approach but makes the hoop.

Paul has made 4B, heading to the peg.

Game 2 starting. Paul East boundary, Stephen out of corner 2, Paul misses at his partner ball, Stephen misses from B baulk.

Paul is playing R and Y. He rushes black past H2, and goes to blue in the corner. Is sending it to beyond hoop 1, for a leave.

Stephen hits in and rushes to hoop 1, with long approach to follow

Paul on 4B and approaching 1. Runs it. Blue and black (Stephen) are in corner 2 and half way along north boundary. Paul gets nice rush up the court and goes to mid-way ball on the line.

Paul goes to ball in corner 2 and has difficult croquet shot to get position in front of 2 . . . does it beautifully

Anthony has gone. Tom here. Paul Skinley in a break, Y just run 2-back with R on 4 back. Blue on H1, Black on H2.

Paul makes Rover with Y. Now setting diagonal spread leave. R on 4-back. Stephen lifts Blue from peg and shoots at R & Y from B baulk but misses.

R rushes Blue to penult, makes 4-back off Black, in position for Blue at penult with Black to Rover. Coming back to Black from Y in the Rover jaws Paul trying to nick the ball from one yard misses the roquet.

Stephen in play with Black makes hoop 3 with 4 ball break set up. Makes it to H6 but rushes Y on to wire preventing hoop approach. Clearing shot on Y Black plays to East boundary.

R roquets Y, Blue in centre court for Rover approach. Black brought off boundary for Rover escape rush on Blue achieved. Midcourt take-off to Rover leaves tight angle for hoop Attempt fails. Blue roquets R.

But no progress for Stephen. Paul back in play makes Rover. Achieves rush on Y to peg and pegs out.
