Day 2 commenced with some interesting matches including Ian Harshman nearly completing a triple, breaking down at rover/rover against Steve Morgan 1/1. An epic slugfest continued until Morgan came back and eventually took the victory 26-24. Dan Pailas was his usual enthusiastic self, demanding ample practice time on the courts before any games commenced. The day continued and a fine Chinese take away lunch was served complete with wonton soup and fortune cookies. Tired and worn from the Kung Pao chicken and Shrimp Lo Mein, we saw all but 2 players withdraw from the Knockout block, leaving the final contest between Steve Morgan (undefeated) and Dan Pailas (block 2nd place). A monumentally significant victory was promptly ensued by Mr. Pailas (26-10 over Morgan) and I am sure we will not hear the end of it until at least next years Boxing Day tournament, or as Dan insists it now to be called "The Dan Pailas Invitational".....
