Good Morning All.

We started this morning with overcast skies and a chill in the air. The courts at Cairnlea have been spiked recently and the spike holes are evident although they do not seem to be affecting play. My guess at the speed of the courts is 10 seconds, although they were slower until the dew evaporated. Unusually for Cairnlea there is little or no wind.

Yesterday the doubles was won by John van der Touw and Kevin Beard who won the fifth game of the final 7 - 6 from Anne Quinn and Stephen Forster.

We have only four or five supervising referees for the 12 courts on which there are 15 games in progress at a time, so 3 are double-banked.

I have now finished two games and have a few minutes to wait for my next opponent, so am able to do this commentary, but I will have to play soon so will not, at this time, start to comment on any particular game.
