11am and partially cloudy here today. Expecting some showers this afternoon.

We are up mostly up to round 5 of the Swiss (I played round 5 yesterday which wasn't ideal as may only get 1 game today, but Dave Maugham the manager does not have any room to manoeuvre with 4 lawns out of action.

Everyone needs to get 6 wins to qualify out of a maximum of 11 games and you stop playing as soon as you reach 6 wins or have 6 loses at which point getting to 6 wins is impossible.

Gabrielle Higgins has had a great start with 4/4. James Hopgood a horror start with 0/3. Most of the favourites are progressing well except Ben Rothman has lost a couple of games, one to Chris Williams -4TP and another to Brian Cumming.

George like last year has had a good start beating Wicks and Aiton.

Foulser is playing the best I've seen him for a while and has beaten Wilkinson, Burridge and Jenkins

Looking at the condition of the courts, Lawns 3 to 6 have settled down from having been recently relaid last time I played here and are good quality lawns. Someone here told me they were laid by someone used to laying Bowls greens who didn't think it was that important they were flat at the edges and they do slope off but not dramatically so at their current pace. I'd guess they are playing at maybe 10.5 seconds but with potential to get quicker. Lawns 9-11 are slow maybe 9.5 and no expectation they will be anything other than easy.

The balls we are using are quite new and there is a very large of pull though the balls are very consistent to rush.

Goacher has just 26ed Gabrielle to end her run, but expect both will qualify.
