This is a new tournament, running three separate blocks each playing 13 point GC but playing to 2 points ahead. Interested to see how much extra time this actually takes.

Due to less entries than hoped (14), we are also offering an Egyptian, in parallel. To allow everyone to play, and provide as many (or as few) games as possible, this is handicap 13 point games, but not to 2 points ahead. Players who have not entered the main tournament are able to play in the Egyptian.

Playing block games to 2 points ahead resulted in 7 of 39 (18%) of games going past 13 hoops. Of these 3 were 8-6 (so the winner of H13 then won the game at H14 anyway) but 3 were 10-9. There were no 9-7 results. None of these disrupted the schedule - the latter wasn't crowded, weather was great and conditions were easy, so time wasn't crucial. I did put 15 minutes on 2 games (after they'd been battling for over an hour), but they finished ahead of that deadline anyway. peter
